On November 11, 2023,  U.S. Army Women’s Foundation 1st Vice President CSM (R) Cindy Pritchett was the featured speaker for the Spanish Lakes Country Club Village (SLCCV) Veterans Club Veteran’s Day Program. The program was well attended by the community, with approximately 65 folks in attendance, of which 15 were veterans. The program’s focus this year was on Women Veterans. The program highlighted the “Hello Girls,” the “Six Triple Eight,” the first women Brigadier Generals, the first women Rangers, and our Top Women Four Star Generals and Flag Officers.
The highlight of the program was having four female veterans of the SLCCV Veteran’s Club, one from each of the services – Navy, Marines, Air Force, and Army- tell their stories.
CSM (R ) Pritchett’s remarks focused on a chronological history of women’s accomplishments from 1973 to the present that don’t always make the headlines. She highlighted the significant changes from 2015 to the present, such as opening combat arms career fields to women. After the program, there were refreshments and several of the ladies and men in the audience came up and said, “They had no idea of all the accomplishments of women in the military.”
The Spanish Lakes Country Club Village Veteran’s Club requested CSM Pritchett to speak as part of our Speaker’s Bureau Program. For more information on our Speaker’s Bureau, go to https://www.awfdn.org/speakers-bureau/
