12 June is Women Veterans Recognition Day.  The observance is celebrated each year on June 12 in recognition of the anniversary of the 1948 Women’s Armed Services Integration Act Signing.  2024 marks the 76th anniversary of the groundbreaking legislation for America’s military women, granting women a permanent place and an opportunity for a career in the nation’s military.
The first Women Veterans Day was held on June 12, 2018, marking the 70th anniversary of the groundbreaking Women’s Armed Services Integration Act, signed into law by President Harry S. Truman on June 12, 1948. That law enabled women to serve as permanent, regular members of the ArmyMarine CorpsNavy and the recently formed Air Force.
Celebrate the day at the Military Women’s Memorial, Memorial Avenue & Schley Drive at the entrance to Arlington National Cemetary on Wednesday, June 12, 2:00-5:00 PM.  Go to the website to get your free tickets today.
