The Army Women’s Foundation Legacy Scholarship Program offers scholarships for coursework in a certificate, community college, undergraduate, and graduate programs at accredited institutions. The M.M. Costello Scholarship, newly established in 2020 through John and Gail Howell’s gift, provides scholarship support to students pursuing health care careers. We also offer scholarships to applicants interested in pursuing a degree in a STEM field.
Women who are currently serving or have served honorably in the U.S. Army are eligible to apply, as are their children.
Since it launched in 2008, the Legacy Scholarship Program has awarded over $500,000 to 250 soldiers, veterans, and their lineal descendants.
All application materials, including online application form, essay, official transcript(s), two recommendations, proof of matriculation at designated accredited academic institution, as well as commander’s verification of active duty or qualified documentation of the sponsor or woman’s service (e.g., Dept. of Defense Form DD-214, Discharge Documents, Active Service Documents, etc.).
